DVD’s Through MLM – Gold Entertainment

It's good to see you again. You can get the MLM Blog delivered to your email by subscribing here.

When I heard that someone was going to offer DVD sales and rentals through Network Marketing, I thought, what a cool idea. I have sold audio books, DVD's, and software on the web for some time and when DVD Monster was launched, the pricing was so competitive that I couldn't buy at wholesale, what they were selling at retail.

So I signed up, sold a few things through my website and made a little money. That lasted about three weeks and then the prices went up by 25% across the board. It was classic bait and switch and I wrote about it here at MLM Blog.

Then along came Gold Entertainment, supposedly backed by a larger company and built for growth, etc. I did a quick look at their compensation and found that you make 25 cents for every $19.99 movie rental customer you bring in, no doubt another scheme.

To make a long story, short, DVD Monster shut down about a month ago and I just read this posted by a friend at Rich Dad about Gold Entertainment:

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 24, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Gold Entertainment Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets:GEGP) -- Effectively immediately the board of directors has decided to cease the Gold Entertainment Multi Level Marketing operations as it is no longer economically viable.

About Gold Entertainment Group

Gold Entertainment Group, Inc. entered into the MLM market in May 2004 through its wholly owned subsidiary Quality Of Life Marketing, Inc.

If you are looking for a fair shot in Network Marketing, minus the hype and B.S. you might want to consider Passport LLC. Of course, you can be certain that I am biased.

    Ty,
Thanks for your post. It is tragic that so many folks put their heart
    and
soul into Gold Entertainment, and companies like excel only to be let
    down
by another hyped up mlm. The sad thing is that I left your team and
Passport to join this company.. The reason????
Only one word hype and overpromised dreams.
When I left Gold Entertainment I came to realize how good we have it
    here
at Passport. The leadership is one of the things that seperates
    Passport
    from the rest.
Ty, Bo and Dave (who is one of the greatest men I have ever had the
    chance
to know) would never do one thing unless it was moving you guys
    forward…The right way!!!

I will not make a dime by saying these things. I 'm just a 29 year
    old
father of 2 who has dreams and goals, and who's life has been touched
    by
    you all.

Grab on to these guys and build a relationship. If you never do one
    thing
in Passport or any Network Marketing company, your life will be better
    by
knowing them. Brian johnson is another man that has truly been a great
    friend…

Passport in my opinion is one of the top companies in Network
    Marketing.
I have seen some come, and unfortunately some go, and have never seen
    the
    leadership you have here.

    As Bo says….Always Lead!!!

And as I say.."I encourage you all to be a stand up and cheer each
    other
on to success kind of group"
Thank you for letting me share.
    Shane
