I don't agree with this completely because at some point in Network Marketing you will have to interact with people. However promoting your business online is a great arrow to have in your quiver and a great starting place if you are a bit shy.
You don't need to be an extrovert to be a success in MLM. There are many methods you can use online or off to promote your business even if you are shy.

If I had good deal to give e.g. movie, clearance sale, good site I won't be shy.
I was extremely shy, especially at the end of my glorious 1500 PV era, as a Quixtar IBO.

That is a great point. If MLM revolved around a product that had true value, it would be easy to hand out samples. Those that like the product would be customers, those that really like the product and see a bigger picture would be associates.
Does that type of process take a CD a week to figure out? = )
