Quixtar Sales Down 3% in 2005

Posted on 03. Nov, 2005 by Ty Tribble in Quixtar

Detroit Free Press:

Sales were down 3% at Quixtar, the North American Web-based sales division that was launched in 1999. Nevertheless, Quixtar posted its third straight year of sales in excess of $1 billion.

If Quixtar raised prices by 5-10% in 2005, and Quixtar's overall sales were down by 3%, how much business did they really lose?

Amazing…inflation is in the 1-2% range, unless you are a Quixtar IBO. Your prices get inflated 5-10%. Then your company has to admit they lost revenue even after a big price jump like that.

Heck, if your prices went up by 5-10%, then if you are showing no growth in distributors your revenues should still go up 5-10%. There shouldn't be any drop unless your pyramid is crumbling. :)

Maybe Quixtar has hit that magical stage where further price increases will result in still fewer sales regardless of the effectiveness of the motivational organizations.
