Well it's part of the Direct Sales Industry.

Over the years I've found the easiest explanations to be the best. When goods, products or services are sold, you can go to the store (retail or traditional marketing) or the store can go to you (Direct marketing). That's not quite accurate, but it's close enough for this discussion.

And both the people and the companies involved, are engaged in Marketing products or services. I've found the word "Marketing" to be one of those words that everyone uses, and nobody understands. So let me help you.


Marketing is all the steps and costs incurred in bringing a product or service from the manufacturer or service provider to the end user.
