And you can divert all you want. That "industry average" is published by a company trying to show it is better, and demonstrably includes at least one company that includes profit from retail markup in that "average".

Quixtar = 30.4%

bonuses and profit from markup are not the same thing.

As for your question - the reported percentage payout has not changed despite IBOs being able to sell direct to clients via A/Q, a relatively new innovation. 30.8% also ties in directly with the compensation plan. 25%+Ruby+Depth+ Emerald+Diamond + Growth+Diamond Plus Incentives etc etc.

They're pretty much all paid out somewhere to someone on all volume. There's just not room for an additional up to 35% of retail markup, even for small volumes.

Nonsense.

If the company pays you the difference between wholesale and retail that is a profit. It is the same as creating 10,000 in volume and getting paid a particular % of that volume by the company.

Again, for the record, how do you know that Quixtar does not include the money it pays out in retail profit as part of the overall 30.4%?

Good one Ty, a site promoting a particular MLM as a source for providing independent data on compensation plans. hahahahah.

Just on one of them, I checked out Usana. They do indeed pay out 38.2% of net sales to associates - except "net sales" includes sales to customers handled directly by Usana, with the associated customer retail markup. To quote from the Usana annual report -

"USANA recognizes revenue when products are shipped and title passes to Associates and Preferred Customers"

Quixtar bonus data does not include any retail markup.

The others, no idea. But I'm in this for life, so I wouldn't want to be involved with some company that's cutting its own throat by offering too high bonuses, and disappearing in a sea of unpaid bills, like so many do.
