Sandra Berg, a Pleasant Valley School District trustee and one of the board's chief advocates of creating a unified K-12 district, is off to Sacramento today to claim her honor as one of the state Assembly's Women of the Year.
Every year, each member of the Assembly picks a Woman of the Year from his or her district. Berg was chosen by Assemblywoman Audra Strickland, R-Moorpark, whose district covers east Ventura County and inland portions of the west county.
"I've had the opportunity to work with Sandy Berg for many years now, and she's a tireless devotee of the people of Camarillo," Strickland said.
Berg, 57, is a Camarillo resident and a senior sales director with Mary Kay Cosmetics. In addition to her service on the Pleasant Valley board, she has worked toward finding affordable housing for lower- and middle-income county residents.

I'm sure Pink Truth would read this and point out that Hitler was once Time magazine's "Man of the Year" and start equating this Woman of the Year with Nazis.
Congrats to Ty on being Time Magazine's person of the year!
