Reliv International, Inc. (Nasdaq: RELV) today announced that the Reliv Kalogris Foundation dedicated a new feeding center and schoolroom for impoverished children in Bois Lance de Limonade, Haiti. The Reliv Kalogris Foundation is Reliv's charitable arm.
R. Scott Montgomery, chairman of the Reliv Kalogris Foundation, attended the dedication ceremony, and said, "Reliv distributors and employees raised the funds for the new building at a charitable walk during our international conference in St. Louis last August. Their generosity made this building possible."
The Bois Lance feeding center eventually is expected to serve 500 children daily. In addition:
* Volunteers built the feeding center and schoolroom using materials bought with funds from the Reliv Foundation.
* The Reliv Foundation already donates free nutritional supplements to 6,600 malnourished children in Haiti every day, served at 22 locations.
* The children receive Reliv Now(R) for Kids, a supplement that contains a broad base of essential vitamins, minerals and micronutrients necessary for healthy growth.
"The Reliv Foundation also supplies free bio-sand water filters to its Haitian feeding programs," said Montgomery. "The bio-sand water filters provide the children with safe drinking water, which is otherwise unavailable."
