Enjoy The Benefits Of Working From Home
Posted on 20. Jan, 2010 by Dan Mitchell.
There's an interesting article about Working From Home over at Technorati. Check it out.
Here's an excerpt:
A lot of people are working out of a home office these days and the reasons vary. Some are self-employed, others are in sales and spend a lot of time traveling, some are lucky enough to work for companies that let them “telecommute” to save on office space, and there's the rare company who does so to accommodate a valuable employee who has children and needs to be home.
Working from home also provides cost-saving benefits such as spending less money on gas, less wear and tear on your car, reduced clothing and lunch expenses, and there can be the added bonus of cutting down on pollution. Traveling salespeople do not apply.
All these benefits are great, but working from home can also bring increased distractions. You might have a tendency to throw in a few loads of laundry while you are downloading some software or waiting for an important phone call. Or, you might want to run the vacuum cleaner and dust while you are waiting for a fax to go through.

Avon Beauty Centers Beat Recession
Posted on 30. Sep, 2009 by Dan Mitchell.
Source: Star-Telegram
Here's an interesting article about how Avon Beauty Centers are thriving during the recession.
This can be an ugly time to look in the mirror if you’re a beauty executive.
Department-store sales for "prestige" beauty products are down $4 billion for the first half of the year. Even cosmetics giants such as Estee Lauder, which announced this month that it would shut down its high-end Prescriptives cosmetics line by Jan. 31, are hurting.
But while the Lauder brand is backing away from the cosmetics counter, a lower-priced household name is busy building up its bricks-and-mortar beauty business.
It’s Avon calling.
Avon Products has about 200 licensed Avon beauty centers in the U.S., including more than a dozen in Texas. But they’re relatively new in North Texas.
Long a direct-sales dynamo known for its person-to-person "Avon calling" campaigns and catalogs, the company now has its first licensed Avon beauty center on this side of the Metroplex, and the couple who own the store like what they’ve seen.
"It’s always good to be the first in," said owner Rusty DeBlassie, who in August added Avon to the mix at the Wild and Chic Boutique, which he and his wife, Yvette, operate in downtown Weatherford. They decided to try the line after seeing their first Avon store in north Dallas this year.

Tupperware a Strong Buy Recommendation
Posted on 27. Aug, 2009 by Dan Mitchell.
By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent
From Blogging Stocks:
I guess Wall Street over did it a little bit, on the downside, with Tupperware earlier this year, driving shares down to about $11 in March. I caught the TUP train at $23.48 on April 28, 2009.
TUP is now at $38.10, good for a smooth 60% gain. And Tupperware's growth story remains intact: Tupperware will benefit from the U.S. 'frugal consumer' trend toward many, many more leftovers and fewer meals out. Hence, I'm Reiterating my Buy rating for Tupperware Brands Corporation (NYSE: TUP).
Further, TUP's decision to acquire a beauty/personal care products business from Sara Lee, concentrated primarily in Latin America and Asia Pacific, also was a good one: margins for these two lines are expected to exceed TUP's corporate average.

Tupperware Banned on Missouri Rivers
Posted on 25. Aug, 2009 by Dan Mitchell.
By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent
Just when I was about to take a vacation boating down a Missouri river with my Tupperware collection!
From OzarkFirst:
(Jefferson City, MO) -- You may want to rethink taking Tupperware along with you on Missouri's rivers. That's at least for the time being.
The Associated Press says state lawmakers have banned it, but not on purpose. They apparently meant to vote on outlawing Styrofoam, but confused their plastics.
The problem came up because Styrofoam is a brand name, so lawmakers tried to name the plastic used to make foam coolers. Now having Tupperware on a river can land you in jail for a year.
No word about a repeal of that law.

iJango Scam a Recipe to Lose Your Money, El Paso BBB Warns
Posted on 23. Aug, 2009 by Dan Mitchell.
By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent
I wonder why the iJango hucksters don't allow media in their meetings. Could it be they don't want their elaborate scam revealed?
From KFOX:
EL PASO, Texas -- The Better Business Bureau said a company named iJango is recruiting in El Paso, and its operations may be a scam. The Austin-based company held a meeting at the Embassy Suites in El Paso Thursday.
A KFOX crew stopped by but was told the media was not allowed inside.
Better Business Bureau of El Paso president Margaret Perez said that is not the only action that's raising red flags.
"It's a recipe to lose your money," said Perez.
Perez said the BBB suspects iJango is really a pyramid scheme."A pyramid scheme is when the focus is on recruiting more people under you, and that's how you're getting your money," said Perez.
According to a BBB's report, iJango asks consumers to pay an upfront fee of $50 to join, but recommends buying a package for $149.95 with a monthly maintenance fee of $19.95. The report said iJango then claims the consumer will make money by inviting your friends and family to use iJango."Supposedly, you're going to be making commissions from people that go to your portal," said Perez. "And then go from there to shop on the Internet."A promotional video on iJango's Web site makes a tempting offer to make money easily.
The company's Twitter page has more than 1,100 followers. The page said iJango's company chairman would be in El Paso Thursday, and it explains that iJango is "a web portal that allows you to access all your favorite sites from one central location."
The BBB contacted sites like Google, Rhapsody and iTunes that iJango claims to be affiliated with, but those all those companies said they are not.
The BBB has given iJango a "F" rating, which is the lowest possible.

Amway Global opens “Experience Center” in Brazil
Posted on 19. Aug, 2009 by Dan Mitchell.
By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent
From Amway Watch:
Rio de Janeiro was the location for Amway to open it's first "concept" shop in Brazil. The opening was held yesterday, August 18, 2009. The store encompasses 500m2 in the center of Rio. Another "Amway Experience Center" is planned to open in Sao Paulo in November.
The shop symbolises a repositioning of the brand in Brazil, which arrived in the country as a company known for home care products. Amway do Brasil today is focused on health and beauty and has created specialized packaging designed for the Brazilian market.
The choice of location was made with an eye to public traffic and to also attract entrepreneurs and resellers. Besides offering their natural products for health and beauty, the Amway Experience Center also offers trainings to Amway business owners and consumers. Experts are available to help the consumer chose the most appropriate products for them.
Amway has invested $230million in the Latin American markets, a number it expects to more than double by 2012, with plans to open six more concept stores.

Xango reveals new product – Code Name Formula X51
Posted on 22. Jul, 2009 by Dan Mitchell.
By Dan Mitchell, MLM Blog Correspondent
XanGo released to its distributors the first pre-production run of a new product, code-named Formula X51. Just six weeks away, anticipation is building for the official launch of XanGo, LLC's latest innovation: a patent-pending dietary supplement formulated to restore natural, youthful vigor. Decreased stress, improved mood, increased energy and enhanced sleep quality are all key components of vigor.
"This proprietary botanical blend is a complement to XanGo® Juice and a natural, strategic extension of our business. We're proud to take the lead again, just like we did in 2002 when we brought the benefits of mangosteen to the global market with XanGo Juice," said XanGo CEO Robert Conlee.
I hope Formula X51 does better than Formula 51 - the Samuel L. Jackson movie. Man, that was a stinker!
