Is CieAura Holographic An MLM A Scam Similar to LifeWave?
Posted on 24. Feb, 2010 by Ty Tribble.
I just unleashed 7 of my most closely guarded Internet Marketing files for the first time. Download Ty Tribble's MLM Web Secrets. It's my free gift to you for visiting.
Seems a little mlm hocus-pocus, but you can judge for yourself, is CieAura an MLM Scam?
From the web site:
The CieAura Transparent Holographic Chip™ - employs a revolutionary technological approach to the re-alignment of two of the body's most important functions... the Human Life Functions and the Immune System Functions. Once these functions are re-aligned to where they should be for your given age, the immune system's ability to perform the removal of pathogens in the human body (Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi) is enhanced.
There seems to be a connection between the management of a company called LifeWave and 8ight.com (from another source):
In the meantime, those who look at the new pretender to the throne , CieAura, will see an amazing similarity to the LifeWave management offshoot company 8ight.com.
http://www.8ight.com/
As we know, Warren Hanchey was reported, by Joel in September 2007, to have come up with a similar range of products to LifeWave but using holographic discs.
http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/forums/viewthread/4333/P33/#252280
“Warren Hanchey has the following catalog of SCAM “holographic data disc” products:
1. An “action” disc (for improved strength and endurance),
2. A sleep inducing disc,
3. A weight loss disc, and
4. A pain relief dischttp://www.8ight.com/category_s/41.htm
That sounds like an exact copy of LifeWave’s SCAM product catalog. How low is this guy Hanche(y)? I mean, he has to SCAM people using his former employer’s SCAM playbook almost exactly.
What’s next, Hanchey? A DefenseDisc that gives a surgery free face lift and protects against malaria and hearing loss, and restores eyesight, just like LifeWave?”
Here we are a almost 2 years later with an upstart company selling a similar product.
How many more will jump on the bandwagon?
So what do you think?

Tupperware Brand Grows Internationally
Posted on 24. Jan, 2010 by Dan Mitchell.
There's an interesting article over at the Wall Street Journal about Tupperware's growth in developing countries. Here's an excerpt:
Tupperware Brands Corp. has come a long way from the 1950s kitchen demonstrations that helped make it a household name.
As proof of the distance that has emerged between the company and its iconic heritage: The U.S. market now accounts for just 14% of the company's sales.
Today, Tupperware parties can be found in roughly 100 countries, with products including Korean "kimchi keepers" and kitchen cutlery. The company also sells beauty products via eight brands, which enjoy wide distribution in countries such as Mexico, South Africa and Uruguay.
"We're not your June Cleaver, 'Leave It To Beaver' kind of company anymore," Chief Executive Rick Goings said in an interview.
Analysts generally expect a solid 2010 for Tupperware, as the direct seller stands to benefit from its sizable exposure to emerging markets, where it has in recent quarters seen double-digit local-currency sales growth. As the world begins crawling out of a crippling downturn, investors largely expect the next growth phase to be led by booming, but risky, emerging market economies. Since much of the world's population is also concentrated in emerging markets, those markets could account for as much as 70% of sales in the near future, Mr. Goings said.

Network Marketing Compensation Plans Part 2: The Binary Plan
Posted on 22. Jan, 2010 by Ty Tribble.
Company examples: MonaVie, Agel, Usana, Vemma, Exfuse.
History and definitions: Binary plans are built with two legs or teams and your ability to balance those two teams in order to be paid all of your volume. Some of the first Binary plans were 50/50 balanced so that you would only get paid on your volume when it matched exactly in each leg. When it matched up, you got what is called a "cycle" or a small amount of money based on the volume accumulated and matched up in each team.
Later companies moved to a 1/3 - 2/3 cycling binary plan where you would be able to cycle even though your team was balanced 1/3 in one leg and 2/3 in the other leg.
The newer binary plans do not cycle, but pay 10% on the smaller of your two legs, many times leaving large amounts of volume unpaid in one of your legs.
Commentary: In a binary plan company that had over 40,000 distributors, I set a record with the fasting growing team, top recruiter and fastest to diamond in the company history. So I know how to build a Binary plan. The problem was not my income, the problem was the income of the several thousand people on my team. It was laughable.
The smoke and mirrors of a binary plan is that in some cases, you have people on your team. Sometimes hundreds of people, yet those people rarely equate to actual income. This provides a new person with a false sense of success. The newest person sees people coming into their team, but no financial gain from those people. Companies are able to create momentum as a result of distributors getting a false hope by seeing one team grow even though they aren't making any money.
Some companies also have high product purchase requirements (up to $250) that many times leads to bottles stacking up in the garage as they hope for the future.
The good thing about the binary is the ability to create momentum and excitement over a short period of time. The bad thing about the binary is the reality of so many people losing money each month with a false sense of success.
Binary plans are also very back end weighted. They pay a handful of people really well and leave the vast majority of the distributors starving.

Network Marketing Compensation Plans Part 1: The Stair-step Breakaway
Posted on 18. Jan, 2010 by Ty Tribble.
Stair-step Breakaway Plan
Company examples: Amway, Arbonne, Nuskin, Avon, Pre-paid Legal, Herbalife.
History and definitions:
The stair-step breakaway is the oldest of the compensation plans and was created by Amway in the 50's. Most early Network Marketing companies copied the plan and based on the fact that these companies have been around for a very long time, the largest companies in the industry typically have a stair-step breakaway plan.
The stair-step breakaway allows for an unlimited number of people to be personally enrolled on your front line and pays in a volume based stair-step manner. For example if you enroll 3 people who do $100 of volume, those 3 people might qualify for a 3% bonus on the the $100, where you would have a total of $300 on your team, you would qualify for 6%. The company would pay you the difference between 6% and 3%. This % "stair-steps" up so as your volume grows your % gets higher and you make a larger % difference.
The breakaway part of the plan is that when a person gets to a certain level, they will "break away" from you, causing you to earn less money on the volume that person creates.
Commentary: Problems with the breakaway plan are numerous. Most of the time the issue starts with the company and what % they pay back to the distributors. Amway has averaged a payout of roughly 30% back to it's distributors which is about 40 to 50% less than the fastest growing companies in the industry today which pay 40 to 45%. In other words to get paid the same in Amway vs. many other companies today, you would have to create 150% more volume.
The other major issue with the breakaway plan is the actual breakaway. You could put your blood, sweat, tears, hundreds of hours and money into one of your teams and then if they match your level ( in other words you help them succeed), your income will drop significantly once they "breakaway".
Stair-step breakaway plans are also back end weighted but it usually takes some additional maneuvering to make a large income. You will hear about tools and training system income, distributor pools where distributors have multiple positions and share the revenues and other shenanigans that offer the appearance of large incomes even though the largest producers are making a fraction of what they portray.
The Bottom Line: Stair-step Breakaway plans are like a used car: Folks can get attached to them but new cars outperform them in every category. The fundamentals of this plan were developed in the 1950's and there is a reason why you rarely see a new company using a breakaway.

Former Melaleuca VP Ordered To Repay $241,000
Posted on 07. Jan, 2010 by Dan Mitchell.
A district court judge has ordered Melaleuca's former vice president of marketing to repay the company almost a quarter of a million dollars.
The court found Jeff Wasden guilty of breaching a non-compete contract when he left the company.
Melaleuca paid Wasden under the "separation agreement" because of that breach of contract. He now owes them more than $241,000.
"Wasden's repeated disparagements of his former employer, knowingly made with the risk of losing over a $300,000 settlement, demonstrated incredible hubris at best, or extreme foolishness at worst," said District Judge Gregory Moeller. "Regardless, the court must conclude that this is an enforceable provision of the contract."
