Coca-cola Phases Out Sodium Benzoate Preservative, MonaVie Leaves In It

Coca-cola Phases Out Sodium Benzoate Preservative, MonaVie Leaves In It

I have been doing some additional research on Sodium Benzoate in some Network Marketing products.  Here is an article that talks about how Coke phased out the controversial additive:

Soft drink giant Coca-Cola is phasing out a controversial additive that has been linked to hyperactivity and causing damage to DNA.

The chemical Sodium Benzoate, also known as E211, is used to stop fizzy drinks going mouldy.

But recent research has shown that the chemical can deactivate parts of DNA, the genetic code in the cells of living creatures.

Coca-Cola said it was withdrawing the additive from Diet Coke in response to consumer demand for more natural products.

The move will mean that by the end of the year no can will contain E211 - and it plans to remove it from its other products as soon as possible.

But the company said at present it had not found a satisfactory alternative to replace the additive in some soft drinks with a higher juice content including Fanta and Dr Pepper.

Other fizzy drinks made by rival companies, such as Irn-Bru, Pepsi Max and Lucozade will continue to contain the additive.

While the chemical occurs naturally in some fruits, such as prunes, apples and cranberries, it is used in much greater strengths by the soft drinks industry.
Peter Piper, a professor of molecular biology research at Sheffield University found that the additive could switch off vital parts of DNA that could be linked to cirrhosis of the liver and Parkinson's disease.

Apple's new iPad could be a big hit for easy home and coffee shop meetings where you want to show a quick video overview of your compensation plan or company leadership without carrying a bigger laptop.  I find that the pda/smart phones are a little small to show a video, but this new (nearly 10" screen) might be just the ticket.

With my home filled with 3 Mac laptops, a desktop, two iPod Touches and another four or five iPods, I can't see us passing up the opportunity to own an iPad.  Video demo coming to an MLM Blog post near you once it arrives.

WealthWorld, A Network Marketing Training Company Launches

WealthWorld, A Network Marketing Training Company Launches

Posted on 23. Jan, 2010 by Ty Tribble.

WealthWorld, a Dallas, Texas based network marketing training company, announced its official launch on January 1, 2010.

Co-Founded by network marketing expert, author, and speaker, Jeff Gardner, WealthWorld is focused on partnering with the world’s best network marketers to create an entire line of cutting-edge books, courses, training programs, and live events.

“WealthWorld’s goal is to help the millions of struggling network marketers worldwide finally achieve their dreams of financial freedom.” Gardner said. “While there are a few experts who have gone to the trouble to publish their strategies for developing a full-time network marketing income, there are thousands of other successful, full-time network marketers who haven’t had the opportunity to share their success stories. My vision is to partner with successful network marketers, who are in the trenches every day, and bring their success secrets to the masses”.

WealthWorld is unique in the fact that it’s also a network marketing company. Customers can refer others to the company’s MLM training products and live events, and get paid retail commissions, as well as many different types of bonus overrides. Commissions and bonuses are paid for life on all sales made to their referrals and their downline.

“I believe that anyone who refers a new customer to our company should be paid for life - and should be paid down many hundreds, even thousands of levels. 1 or 2-tier affiliate programs may work in other non-MLM companies. However, in my opinion, if you recommend our products to your MLM downline for additional training, you should be paid long-term on everyone who becomes a customer, directly or indirectly, thanks to your original referral.”

There are no fees to become a WealthWorld Associate. You can automatically become a WealthWorld Associate by grabbing a copy of their flagship product, Unstoppable Sponsoring. This new product, which comes with a copy of the premier issue of the “Unstoppable Sponsoring Monthly” newsletter, is a 2 and ½ hour DVD that the company is giving away free.

WealthWorld is well-positioned to become one of the largest network marketing training companies in the world. With network marketing, MLM, and direct sales seeing huge growth worldwide , the demand for MLM training materials is increasing tremendously.

The 12 Scams of Christmas

The 12 Scams of Christmas

Posted on 17. Dec, 2009 by Dan Mitchell.

McAfee recently released their “Twelve Scams of Christmas” list to assist consumers in avoiding being scammed via email and internet this holiday season. Here's the first 5...be careful out there!

Scam I: Charity Phishing Scams – Be Careful Who You Give To

During the holiday season, hackers take advantage of citizens’ generosity by sending e-mails that appear to be from legitimate charitable organizations. In reality, they are fake Web sites designed to steal donations, credit card information and the identities of donors.

Scam 2: Fake Invoices from Delivery Services to Steal Your Money

During the holidays, cybercriminals often send fake invoices and delivery notifications appearing to be from Federal Express, UPS or the U.S. Customs Service. They e-mail consumers asking for credit card details to credit back the account, or require users to open an online invoice or customs form to receive the package. Once completed, the person’s information is stolen or malware is automatically installed on their computer.

Scam 3: Social Networking – A Cybercriminal “Wants to be Your Friend”

Cybercriminals take advantage of this social time of the year by sending authentic-looking “New Friend Request” e-mails from social networking sites. Internet users should beware that clicking on links in these e-mails can automatically install malware on computers and steal personal information.

Scam 4: The Dangers of Holiday E-Cards

Cyber thieves cash in on consumers who send holiday e-cards in an effort to be environmentally conscious. Last holiday season, McAfee Labs discovered a worm masked as Hallmark e-cards and McDonald’s and Coca-Cola holiday promotions. Holiday-themed PowerPoint e-mail attachments are also popular among cybercriminals. Be careful what you click on.

Scam 5: “Luxury” Holiday Jewelry Comes at a High Price

McAfee Labs recently uncovered a new holiday campaign that leads shoppers to malware-ridden sites offering “discounted” luxury gifts from Cartier, Gucci, and Tag Heuer. Cybercriminals even use fraudulent logos of the Better Business Bureau to trick shoppers into buying products they never receive.

Check out McAfee for the rest of the Holiday Internet Scams.

Mommies vs. the FTC

Mommies vs. the FTC

Here's an interesting article about the FTC and pay-to-praise blogging:

Even for someone who gets blessed with free washers and dryers, semiannual boondoggle trips to Los Angeles, New York and Florida, and all the organic yogurt drinks she can consume, $11,000 is a lot of money. For mommy bloggers, Tweeters and Facebookers who post opinions about consumer products, $11,000 is the size of the fine they allegedly might incur for failing to follow the government's disclosure rules on advertising and endorsing.

According to recently revised Federal Trade Commission guidelines, bloggers and other word-of-mouth advertisers are now subject to FTC rules for advertisers and "endorsers" -- anyone who recommends a commercial product or service. Repeated violations of those rules could result in court-ordered monetary penalties. These new additions to the FTC Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising went into effect Dec. 1, and for many participants in the sometimes-lucrative world of social-media-for-pay, the fear is in the air.
