Light's Out For Steve Smith at Ampegy?
I heard from a reliable source that former Excel Communications legend, Steve Smith is already out as Chief Marketing Officer of Ampegy.
Ampegy just launched on February 24th, 2011 in the deregulated energy market.
I found no sign of Steve Smith on the Ampegy web site.

It looks like a lot of those excel communications guys are heading into the energy mlm market
It turns out that Ampegy’s “partner”, Spark Energy, did not pay commissions anywhere near what EXCEL Commmunications paid. Excel paid anywhere from 5% to 10% of every phone bill. Spark, on the other hand only allowed Ampegy to pay its representatives a measly 25 cents per month, per customer. A flat .25 cents, even if the electric or gas bill was hundreds of dollars per month.
Ampegy is now diversifying into marketing other types of services for companies outside of the energy business. I hope it works out well for them. The leadership team at Ampegy is top-quality.
