India seems to be a booming market for good old Amway.

From IndianExpress:

India’s Direct Selling (DS) FMCG, Amway India, has logged 25% growth in Punjab in 2009 by doing business worth Rs 30 crore in the first seven months of 2009.

The company, which nationally grew by 40% in recession-hit 2008, touching Rs 1128 crore worth sales (from Rs 800 crores in ‘07), expects its national sales to cross Rs 2,500 crores by 2012. Bhavun Kapur, regional manager (North), said that the company would triple its production capacity by year-end.

Speaking to the mediapersons in Ludhiana, Bhuvan Kapur said, “Our sales this year in Punjab have registered a 25% jump, and has touched Rs 30 crores. This is in tune with overall trend in the north, where we have notched up sales of Rs 190 crores in ‘09, compared to Rs 154 crores in ‘08.”

Kapur added that with five offices and one warehouse in Punjab, Amway had been able to home-deliver its products to 62 towns and cities in Punjab, and has held around 500 product training sessions in the state.
