Remember those New Years Resolutions we all made about 120 hours ago?

You know the ones:

• I will devote "X" number of hours a day to my business.
• I will spend time every day on my personal development.
• I will transform my health by working out and eating a healthy diet.

I could go on...

New Years resolutions are always hard because one bad day (or bad minute!) can cause you to feel like you have failed and that feeling can lead people to give up.

We all have a limited amount of time here on earth and if you think that life isn't a race, wait until you hand the keys to your car to your daughter when you could have sworn that just yesterday, you were holding her in your arms and rocking her to sleep.

Life is a race, but the good news is that life is not a sprint.

Accomplishing great things in life requires a series or good decisions every day.  My coach and mentor, Bo Short always says that success is not just doing the right things.  It's doing enough of the right things.

So as we move into day 5 of the new year, do yourself a favor and focus on what you can accomplish.  Look forward, not back.  Pat yourself on the back for the good decisions you made over the last few days and work on the stuff that you can improve on.

Remember this, I am proud of the decision you made to make a difference in your life.  You can do this.  Yes, there will be struggle.  Yes, life will throw you curveballs. But there is nothing you can not achieve.

I know, it wasn't a very innovative subject line. Sorry. I want to be quick because I'm at the beach for the next couple of days, spending time with my family.

The beaches in Washington state (we are hanging out in Long Beach, WA) are different than the beaches in Bora Bora this time of year. But I like different and I highly recommend you experience both. = )

Something about sitting by the fire when the wind is blowing at 40 miles an hour and the rain is pounding on the roof...

But enough about me, I want to talk about you.

Have you thought about how you can make 2012 your breakthrough year?

As you think about 2012, I want you to know that I believe in you.

I'm sure some of you are thinking "Believe in me? Ty doesn't even know me."

And you're right. While I do personally know many of you, it's hard to personally know everyone who subscribes to my E-mails and reads my blog, but it actually isn't hard to know you, because I was once in your shoes...sometimes struggling and then sometimes having an amazing day when I seemed to get it all right.

I want you to know that nothing can stop you if you put your heart and mind into achieving your dreams and goals.

Let's make 2012 your best year ever.

The other day Ty Tribble wrote a great post on his blog - TyTribble.com - entitled What Are You Doing Today To Generate More Volume? In it he poses the question, So what does generate volume? Ty's answer... Selling products and sponsoring people.

Here's an inspiring story of one Avon Lady who's been selling product for 32 years...

Selling Avon products over 50 years ago was a passing fancy for Katherine Mangelos who had three children at the time – two boys and a girl. She wasn’t sure she could find customers by knocking on doors of people she didn’t know.

She set out on her mission in sales on March 23, 1959. She was 32 years old beginning a career that would see her add up some $2 million in sales for her half century of part-time work.

Katherine said her husband didn’t want her to work.

“This Avon lady came around to sell me Avon. I thought if she can sell Avon I can sell Avon, and maybe, if I make $5, it will be $5 we don’t have. We didn’t have any money at the time. I called for information and some lady came and signed me up,” she said.

Daily MLM Book Recommendation: The Zen of MLM

Okay...honestly, there’s more than 7 resources I use on a daily basis here at the MLM Blog. I used the 7 in the title because I was reading about the power of 7 in list posts over at Copyblogger this morning. Copyblogger is a great resource!

Here’s 7 resources for highly effective MLM bloggers I use on a daily basis here at MLM Blog -  for inspiration, research and promotion.

#1 Google

Sure, Google is great for search and allows you to find anything you want in an instant. This morning I was looking for a laugh and found this: We Dare You Not to Laugh at 31 Foods With Misspelled Names. I laughed. LMAO. But Google's not just a search engine.

Google and the various tools they provide are invaluable for bloggers. Google Alerts is one tool I use everday. Google Alerts allows you to monitor the Web for content based on keywords and emails you the results. I have Google Alerts set up to notify me when 100s of different MLM companies are mentioned. But be careful - Google alerts can fill up an inbox pretty quick. I use a separate email account like googlealerts@xxx.com and go through them once every day or two.

Another great Google tool is Google Reader. Google Reader allows you an aggregated view of all the RSS feeds you subscribe to in one location. Great time saver.

Still another great Google tool is Google Insights. With Google Insights you can compare search volume patterns across specific regions, categories, time frames and properties. Great for research!

2. Compete & Quantcast

Another great tool for research is Quantcast. Also an essential tool if you are doing any paid advertising to promote your blog. Another great research tool along the same lines is Compete.

3. TweetDeck (or HootSuite)

You definitely need a tool like TweetDeck or HootSuite if you're going to leverage Twitter to promote your blog. We use Twitter to promote the MLM Blog everyday. You can also use a service like TwitterFeed to set up automatic tweets when you update your blog. TwitterFeed will even update your Facebook page as well.

4. Coffee (or Tea)

I just find blogging is more fun with a nice warm beverage.

5. Facebook

Get a Facebook Fan Page set up to promote your blog. Do it now. Let us know if you need some help.

6. Books

Books are a great inspiration for posts and especially Blog post Titles. I’m a book lover - over 10,000 books in and around my home office - and just gazing around now I can see multiple book titles that I could spin into colorful blog posts: The Way Things Work, Let Sleeping Vets Lie, Misadventures of a Fly Fisherman, The Human Factor. Reading anything and everything I can get my hands on is a constant inspiration for blog posts.

7. OPB

OPB stands for Other People’s Blogs. The best way to improve as a blogger is read other people's blogs. For example, this post was inspired by John Paul Aguiar’s Money Dummy blog and his post entitled Blogging Tools That Successful Bloggers Use Daily.

Amway India’s social arm – Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF) along with Amway distributors of Madurai, have helped set up a computer centre at the Indian Association for the Blind (IAB) campus at Sundararajanpatty, in the outskirts of Madurai. Inaugurated by District Collector, Thiru C Kamaraj (IAS), this is the 13th such computer centre AOF and Amway distributors have donated for visually challenged children. The other Computer centres are at Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Narendrapur, Kolkata, Patna, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad & Thiruvananthapuram. Each computer centre is equipped with 8-10 new computers with the ‘SuperNova’ software which enables the visually challenged (blind) to use computers.

“It is heartening to see the corporate sector coming forward and supporting local institutions carrying out humanitarian work, and we appreciate Amway’s initiative,” said Thiru Kamraj. “We would like to see greater number of Corporate houses doing what Amway has set out to do with IAB.” Mr Jinnah, Director IAB, echoed the Collector’s sentiments. “It is indeed nice that Amway distributors of Madurai and AOF have volunteered to set up this computer centre – over 100 children will benefit,” he said. AOF had donated 10 Dell OptiPlex 380 DT computers with DVD writer, installed with SuperNova – a software that enables the visually challenged to use computers.
