I was having a conversation with a friend of mine and the topic of leaving Quixtar came up. I have told several people that the reason I left Quixtar was because I ran across this web page that had a conversation with former Quixtar Diamond, Bo Short. But as I think back on that time, I now realize that is only partially true.

Yes, I did leave Quixtar after reading Bo Short’s story, but the real reason I left Quixtar was because Bo Short offered something for me to leave Quixtar to. Bo Short founded a business called Passport and I found it to be practically opposite from Quixtar in most areas.

What am I trying to say?

I am trying to say that if Bo Short had simply quit Quixtar and told his story, I don’t think I would have left. There is equally damning information on Amway and Quixtar at this site by a former Emerald, yet I wrote it off, thinking that guy must be a quitter.

Bo Short didn’t just tell us what is wrong with Network Marketing, he founded his own company and addressed many of the issues that face the average Network Marketer today. This is not to say that Bo Short’s Passport Company is perfect or that it has solved all of the problems in Network Marketing. Most people would admit that eliminating the cost of tools & training and offering products that are competitive with the marketplace is a step in the right direction.

Agree with him or not, Bo Short offered a solution to the problems faced in Quixtar. Isn’t that what a leader is supposed to do? Offer solutions to problems?
