I won’t mention the spammers persons name that sent me an email with the following headline:
"Are you getting the results you want from your internet activities?"
The headline was large and red…and screamed spam.
So let’s look closely here at what this person did…
1. Farmed my name and email from somewhere on the net.
2. Composed a spammy email meant to spark my interest in his "solutions"
Here is the problem:
The dude has no idea who I am (or who his target market is). For the love of Pete, Mr. Spammy is asking me, a guy who has created over 5,000 opt in leads in the last six months (all free) on the Internet if I need help with my "internet activities".
UGH! If you are going to spam me…at least "Google" my name first so that you don’t look like an idiot. The guy would have better luck selling ice-cubes to Eskimos.
And another thing: Shouldn’t a guy who is pitching "internet solutions", have an Internet presence? The first thing I did (after emailing the guy and asking if he was joking) was "Google", Mr. Spammy. I couldn’t find anything listed in the Google top ten under his name.
For the record, if I am looking for "solutions" for my "internet activities", I call Mike Dillard or Tim Erway. I might email Perry Marshall or Ken Evoy or I might seek out Eben Pagan, Tom Bell, Seth Godin or Yanik Silver for some coaching. Mr. Spammy need not apply to help me with my "activities".
Nice,
I get unknown people shooting me information as well wanting me to join a new social club or offering a solution to my problems.

There is hardly a day that goes by when I don't get spam from all manner of people promising me all manner of things.
Dude, its great being the one who's hunted but you're right. Few people are putting any forethought into their so-called marketing efforts…
I mean seriously, google the person's name at the very LEAST.
Your efforts would be better spent putting marketing which will be seen by many people over and over and over again–instead of targeting a single person and risking the bank on one person.
Our time is worth more than that.
c'mon Ty.
we all get spam.
no need to make a big deal out of it. we all know you run with the big dogs, we all know you have an awesomely educational and informative live call training session over at http://www.liveleadcalls.com – no need to flaunt it or anything 🙂
also, in the time it takes for someone to google a name, more than 1000 spam emails can be sent. and fatcat spammers with big guns earn 6-7 figures a month. who knew?
How funny.. When will these people learn. I wish people would do the same before spamming me
Spam is definitely alive and well and I don’t see it going away anytime soon. I literally get several hundred emails per day across all of my different accounts with offers and pitches. What’s crazy is that I didn’t even opt in to their list. Like you, they must have harvested my information off the internet. It’s sad that these folks think this is a smart or effective way to build a business of any kind.
