Hello my 45-50 year old and older friends!

Back in 2003, when I launched the MLMBlog, I was 33 years old.

33 seems so young today, but when I hung out with other Online Network Marketers, I was usually the old guy in the room. Legendary Internet marketers, Jonathan Budd, Mark Hoverson and Mike Dillard were all in their 20’s and native to the world of the Internet and technology. I on the other hand was an immigrant in the world of technology.

Internet Immigrants and Natives

If you are over 45 years old or close to it, you are an immigrant too. Think about how an immigrant feels entering a new country. They don’t know the language, they don’t know where to go for information and they don’t even know who to trust. Imagine everything you see and hear is foreign to you. This is how most of us feel when we are exposed to new technology.

Natives, on the other hand (those likely 40 and younger) were exposed to technology at a young age. The Internet has always been there. Cell phones have always been there. Google has always been there.

It’s a fact, technology comes easier to those of us who were born after 1980.

In 1995, America Online (AOL) dial up Internet access only had 1 million customers and the entire Internet had only 40 million users worldwide. When I turned 30 years old in 2000, the Internet had 361 million users worldwide.

So for me to launch MLMBlog in October of 2003 and start running Google Ads in January of 2003, I was early to the game but old at the same time.

Understanding Internet/Network Marketing Trends

I really don’t consider myself to be a techie type person. In fact, I’m not. What I am is a marketer who understands trends.

I was sick and tired of stalking the mall for winners, like the crocodile hunter. I just thought that maybe the Internet provided a better way to reach more people, faster.

And it did.

I generated over 10,000 leads in 6 months of blogging and along with those leads came my first 6-figure Network Marketing income.

The MLM Blog is Back

After roughly a 10 year hiatus from blogging, I decided to come back get rolling again. Now I didn’t really know where it would take me, but I think that is becoming more clear by the day.

Because I knew that just posting the MLM News was not going to fulfil me, I started thinking about the mistakes the business killing mistakes that Network Marketers make online. There are lots of them.

I’m 51 years old now, a little (OK a lot lol) greyer and bit wiser I think. Network Marketers my age (+/-) and older need help navigating the world of online marketing.

Stay tuned and if you have questions, feel free to leave a comment.
