Remember those New Years Resolutions we all made about 120 hours ago?
You know the ones:
- I will devote “X” number of hours a day to my business.
- I will spend time every day on my personal development.
- I will transform my health by working out and eating a healthy diet.
I could go on…
New Years resolutions are always hard because one bad day (or bad minute!) can cause you to feel like you have failed and that feeling can lead people to give up.
We all have a limited amount of time here on earth and if you think that life isn’t a race, wait until you hand the keys to your car to your daughter when you could have sworn that just yesterday, you were holding her in your arms and rocking her to sleep.
Life is a race, but the good news is that life is not a sprint.
Accomplishing great things in life requires a series or good decisions every day. My coach and mentor, Bo Short always says that success is not just doing the right things. It’s doing enough of the right things.
So as we move into day 5 of the new year, do yourself a favor and focus on what you can accomplish. Look forward, not back. Pat yourself on the back for the good decisions you made over the last few days and work on the stuff that you can improve on.
Remember this, I am proud of the decision you made to make a difference in your life. You can do this. Yes, there will be struggle. Yes, life will throw you curveballs. But there is nothing you can not achieve.
Just a friendly reminder from your friend,
Ty Tribble = )
Great blog Thank you.
I'm still on track 🙂
Thanks Ty! 2012 is going to be the year of achievement.
Great Words of encouragement. Off to a Great start.
Thanks Ty, always great to get words of encouragement.
Hi Ty,
Wise words here.
Be present. Bring yourself back to where you can make an impact: the moment. Focus on what you can do now, to change your life now, and you will keep the inspiration going.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the encouragement Thank you! One of my goals for 2012 is to focus on what I CAN do, not what I should do or wish I would've done. Just wrote about that today on my blog! Great minds think alike ;).
Oh, and by the way, day 5, still on track!
Wise words my friend wise words… Its not about being perfect… we are not robots but rather living breathing human beings… we will make mistakes… we WILL have off days… but its important to pick ourselves back up, reflect on the positives and learn from the negatives… Refocus on the road ahead and strive for constant improvement!!
We always need reminders! Thanks.
Hi Ty your right about holding your daughter in your hands, I am now holding her son in my arms . @ Roger that was a mistake that I have made in the past …killing myself just because I miss something of my new years list. A good book about this type of mindset is the slight edge!
Talk soon Graham
Hi Ty,
A great post and a great reminder. I love how you help put things into perspective. I think we can learn from the past but should focus on the present. Not only should we focus on what we can do now to achieve our goals, but we also need to make sure we take time to enjoy life’s precious moments!
Thanks!
