This comes from Raven’s Facebook:
Keep seeing so many ACAI weight loss ads… If ACAI berries really make u lose weight, why are so many Top Level MONAVIE Reps/Executives overweight? Seriously, I was there for 5 years. I’m not trying to be mean, I’m Just honestly asking.
LOL
I have a great tasting meal replacement shake and a metabolism-booster for them.
Have a Great Day!

I always wonder the same thing when I’m in the Dr.’s office, ER, or Hospital, in general. They ARE in healthcare, right?
Guess I have to carry more EiroFIT literature and samples!
~ Bud
That’s easy…Monavie may have Acai Berry in it but it is LOADED with fruit and other sugars. In other words, it plays with your blood sugar leaving you HUNGRY! Hence the weight gain. Have you ever read their diabetes literature? It’s hilarious! They only talk about Acai – not Monavie. Monavie is the last thing a diabetic should be consuming.
The Glycemic Research Institute (Gov’t funded lab in Tampa, FL) has many interesting things to say about juices in general. There are alternatives! Coffee is loaded with anti-oxidants and there is a low-glycemic patent that has been awarded to scientist, Dr. Ann de Wees Allen who has her products at Boresha International. I encourage anyone to check them out!
Why is it that you find health care workers outside a hospital smoking? It begs the questions of how can you take their advice seriously.
First of all, why is Raven biting the hand that fed her? Isn’t she just trying to generate some hype because she knows MonaVie is the best product out there? If it weren’t for MonaVie and her ex-husband, she would be nobody. And pure Acai MAY help people lose weight, but Acai along with other fruits may not have the same affect on ALL people!!! Personally, I lost 12 pounds in the first month drinking MonaVie without dieting or exercise. I felt like it curbed my appetite and increased my metabolism. So let’s be realistic please.
B&B…perhaps you should do some homework before making your comments. Who told you MonaVie is LOADED with OTHER sugars??? I know you didn’t do the research yourself because if you had, you would know that the only sugars that are in MonaVie are from the fruit. Nothing is added. And research shows that ALL of MonaVie’s beverages, including their energy drink EMV is very LOW GLYCEMIC.
Thanks Ty , Be sure and become a fan

No thanks Raven.
Steve, oops, my error. No it’s not other sugars, but it IS sugar. I don’t care if it is fructose, lactose, maltose or sucrose. Sugar is sugar when it hits the bloodstream. Low Glycemic? You can check at the Glycemic Research Institute’s website (just google it) and see if they agree with you. it is a government run agency. If it’s on the market they’ve tested it.
B&B….didn’t see anything about MonaVie on the site. If you are taking about juices in general, yes the crap you buy at the store is bad and if you sit around drinking it all day long, you will get fat. MonaVie is not the same. It’s wild fruits and berries in a bottle. And last I heard, the medical community was telling everyone that they need to eat more fruits, not less. MonaVie products are scientifically formulated with all of these types of health issues in mind, sorry to tell you. Again, MonaVie is proven low glycemic and fine for some diabetics. Notice I said “some” because not all diabetes is the same. But you should know that because you’re the expert, right?
Hmmm, controversial posting there! I can see that has stirred up a lot of mixed responses.
No worries, Steve – I’ll leave all the expert stuff to you. But just curious where you received your medical/nutritional degrees from…
You may want to go back to the Glycemic Research Institute’s website and read up on the legalities of promoting a product as low glycemic, if it has not been certified as such.
I’ve got nothing more to say here other than that the back of a can of EMV will say it has 170 calories and 40 g of carbs. Everyone else can decide if that is low glycemic or not.
It is very difficult to find a juice that is Low Glycemic certified. Even more difficult to find one that is certified Gluten Free, Banned Substances Control Group, Halal, Vegan, and soon to be Kosher. And whose ingredients have been shown to control blood sugar levels. http://bit.ly/9Vq0AC to see the certifications.
B&B….I don’t think MonaVie’s leaders would be sharing the results of studies that show their products are low glycemic if it weren’t true, do you? Everything MV has done to this point has been done with honesty and integrity so why would that change now?
So genious, calories and carbs don’t automatically equate to high glycemic index, but I’m sure you know that too. Carbs that break down quickly and release glucose rapidly into the blood stream have high GI while carbs that break down more slowly have a low GI. Here is a quote from the EMV site: “this advanced formula features Palatinose, a carbohydrate energy source found naturally in honey, sugar cane and sugar beets. SCIENTIFICALLY shown to promote longer lasting energy, Palatinose metabolizes more SLOWLY than sucrose and maltose – typical ingredients in other energy drinks – promoting a steady stream of energy over a longer period of time.”
I suppose next you’re going to tell me that MonaVie Kosher is not certified Kosher or Halal.
Again, not trying to beat a dead horse, but what is MonaVie’s ORAC?
See, my point is that MonaVie has been shady about ORAC for a long time…usually giving the ORAC of the Freeze Dried ACAI as opposed to the actual ORAC of the product,
Whereas EIRO has clinical proof that you will see a significant increase in SOD (SuperOxide Dismutase) levels in the bloodstream within 60 minutes.
http://www.eiropharmacist.com/?p=1573
“Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is an enzyme that removes the superoxide (O2-) radical. We hear a lot in nutritional news about “antioxidants”. Think of SOD as a natural antioxidant. “
There are over 2200 different groups of free radicals that attack our cells everyday, causing oxidative stress. (O2-) radical is just one of them. Science shows that you need a broad spectrum of anti-oxidants to combat ROS & RNS.
Many free radicals in our environment are synthetic & are of chemistry that our body’s natural antioxidants ( like SOD) can’t interact with and neutralize.
It is much more important to have a very broad variety of different types of antioxidants to counteract the vastly different chemistries of the tens of thousands of different kinds of oxidizing free radicals that exist in our environment today.
Wouldn’t you rather have a product that covers all 2200 of the known free radical groups attacking your body?
So where is the clinical study that shows coverage of “2200 known free radical groups”?
The clinical trial of EIRO tested the SOD levels. Obviously there are other benefits.
“So what does SOD defend against? — Compounds called ROS (reactive oxygen species). Among the most important ROS are free radicals. We have discussed numerous times about how bad free radicals are, but for a review go here. Cells have a variety of defenses against the harmful effects of ROS; the most important being SOD. ROS are essential to our health, so it is important that the attempt to limit the production of ROS not succeed too well—hence our defensive coordinator. Without some ROS our thyroid gland would not work efficiently and we would not be able to fight off infections. Our defensive coordinator (SOD) controls this process, allowing enough ROS to be beneficial, but not enough to cause cellular damage. As long as our bodies have enough SOD, this process works well and our cells are not subject to premature aging. Lack of SOD not only adversely affects our health, but our cells age faster. When SOD levels are topped off—like daily use of Eiro—the entire aging process at the cellular level is dramatically slowed down. To those of us 40 and above, this is huge, and the under 40 crowd that do not want to look like us when they turn 40, this is huge. “
Ty….I addressed the ORAC issue in another thread. Why do we continue to put so much emphasis on ORAC when there are so many variables involved? It’s about balance, variety and moderation. Just because you have a product that has a ridiculous ORAC score, doesn’t mean it’s best product out there.
Steve,
I happen to agree with you about ORAC. The point I was making is about the ridiculous assumption from MonaVie reps about the ORAC score of freeze dried acai. EIRO has clearly proven that flash freezing the whole fruit is an effective method of processing, perhaps even better than freeze drying, based on the clinical study results.
I’m not in a weightloss/nutritional company (well, at least not as an active distributor), but there seems to be a common missing link between all of the weight loss claims that the different promoters of various companies make:
Yes, you can lose weight IF you make the right changes.
I cannot drink the “recommended dose” of anything, eat 2 pizzas a day, and still lose weight. Sorry, the human body simply does not work that way.
Most of these top earners are probably enjoying their money and eating rich foods instead of eating healthy. So they can consume all of the Acai they want, but if their daily intake is constantly greater than their daily burn, they will continue to be fat. Period.
And no juice will solve that riddle.
Brent is correct to a point. There is only one FDA approved weight loss product on the market that by taking it alone you will lose weight. Clinically proven to cause a person to lose 10-15% body fat in a year. Every other product on the market has to tell you to exercise and restrict calories as that is what causes the weight loss.
Clayton, the FDA does not approve anything other than drugs. There is no such thing as an FDA approved product on the market.
Bingo, Ty. And this is where so many nutritional company reps start crossing the line.
We looked at MV as a model product because clearly, it was the leading nutritional out there at the time. More than one ingredient was the crucial factor as no culture ever survived on just noni or just goji. We then appreciated the fact that the world’s longest living culture, the Australian Aborigines had highly nutritionally dense foods as the bases if their diet. They also did not suffer the diseases of civilization or diseases of nutrition (DON) (obesity, diabetes, hypertension, CVD, mental diseases etc) that are so prevalent today.
Thus Kakadu Juice was born with10 Australian wild foods and 14 other superfoods, no fillers and whole food purees rather than juices.
The antioxidant cascade in Kakadu Juice is a feature and significant functional ‘component’. We have our proof in the many and typical results people have had from regular consumption. We expected the science to show and are now being told of people who are reducing or abandoning their medications for the DON.
We can point to microsugars, antioxidants, cellular repair agents and a whole lot of components but the success stories speak volumes.
My own story is about elevated uric acid levels (congenital). I still enjoy my beer, meats, bread and other contra-indicated foods but an ounce of Kakadu Juice morning and night and I haven’t had a symptom for over 2 years.
Interesting reading the comments above. I wonder what others will say when Kakadu Juice is a $2B industry.
I don’t think Monavie adds to weight gain or loss.
lets face it, its so expensive that most people can only afford to drink a small amount every day, and yes as a fruit drink that is treated it woulf not be as healthy as juices freshly made .. but that takes work and is not simple paricularly if we want organic juice. talking about company distributors and associated people living the product. does that mean all CEO’s need to have no wrinkles and be olympic athletes? i dont think so.. i’d be more concerned where so called doctors who recommend companies or products and then they are discredited or they DIE like one did recently. i wonder how this company can keep selling his product and he died?? and he didnt have a car accident!
free radicals are dangerous because they can cause cancer..:-
