I am kicking myself for not using Google Chrome Extensions sooner.  What in the world was I thinking?  The ability to push one button in your browser to accomplish a task that might otherwise take several tabs and windows is amazing.

Google Chrome Extensions are basically small software programs that you can install directly in your Google Chrome browser. (Click “Window” then “Extensions” to see your current Extensions and search for new Extensions, assuming you are using Google Chrome as your browser).

To make things easy for you, I thought I would share some of the Google Extensions I have been using.

Pin It Button for Pinterest

The Pin It Button allows you to save pictures and pages to your Pinterest account.

Next time you find something you want to pin at Pinterest (like your blog posts), just click the Pin It Button and your visual bookmark will be saved on your Pinterest account.

OneTab

If you are like me, I seem to end up with a dozen or more tabs open, especially when I am doing research or working on a project. OneTab pulls all of those tabs into a page and creates a list of the tabs.

Reducing the number of tabs you have open at a given time on your computer will save memory.

Simple Blocker

I haven’t used Simple Blocker yet, but I am really excited to try it out.  If you ever have trouble with distractions like Facebook, Twitter and Email, Simple Blocker will block those sites for a period of time that you set.

Of course you can turn it on and off at any time, but what excited me about this extension is the ability to block out distractions while on the phone or writing a blog post. A dream come true for those of us who have an ADD type of personality.

Grammarly

Grammarly is a really cool grammar and spell check tool.

I am actually pretty good at spelling, but I’m not the best “typer” in the world.  Some might even call me typing impaired.

Bottom line, 90% of the people in the world can probably use as much help as possible in the grammar and spelling department and Grammarly is a pretty cool and helpful.

Pocket

If you are blogging and content marketing, it is important to read at least 5 blog posts and/or articles a day in your niche market. Pocket is basically a place to keep links and articles for later reading.

A cool thing about Pocket is you can save articles, links, videos and pages on your phone and access them later in your browser.

Hootsuite Hootlet

Hootlet allows you to share and schedule articles on your social media accounts.

When you find an article that you believe your followers would see as valuable, you can quickly and easily share it on up to 5 accounts including Facebook (personal and pages), Twitter, Google + and LinkedIn.

Nimbus

Nimbus is a tool that allows you to screen capture an entire page, a selected area of a page or even record a screen capture video of a page.

But wait, it gets better.  Once you screen capture something, you can resize it, crop it, write on it, add arrows, circles, and text. You can even blur out portions of the page if you like.  It’s crazy cool.

I also tested out the video screen capture.  It was about as simple to use as anything I have ever tried and it produced a high-quality downloadable video with ease.
