From Taiwan Today:
Herbalife, the third largest direct selling company in the world, will hold its “Herbalife Asian Leaders Conference” from Sept. 11-16.
William Rahn, head of the Herbalife Asian-Pacific region, said June 15 that the conference should generate over NT$600 million (US$18 million) in business opportunities. More than 20,000 high-level managers from throughout the region will attend the conference.
Alice Chow, project leader of the Taiwan MICE Advancement Program under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, said that in addition to the Herbalife conference, 13 other major conferences have already been scheduled for this year, and more than 40 others are currently being discussed. Some 40,000 conference attendees are expected for the entire 2009.
Herbalife has had average annual revenue growth exceeding 20 percent. Rahn said that Herbalife has grown very quickly in the international arena; from 2004 to 2008, the scale of its international operations, spread throughout 70 nations, has grown two-fold. Since Taiwan ranks No. 3 worldwide in terms of sales revenues, it is especially significant that the conference is being held in Taiwan.
Lu Chun-han, general manager of Herbalife Taiwan, said June 15 that total sales revenues in Taiwan for last year were NT$4.63 billion. Herbalife Taiwan has grown for 14 consecutive years, and now accounts for Herbalife’s largest market in the Asia-Pacific region.
Rahn said that the leaders’ summit will be held from Sept. 11 to 15 at the Nangang Exhibition Hall. Over 20,000 members of Herbalife are expected to attend the summit, with half of them coming from Taiwan, and the other half from 12 other nations in the Asia-Pacific region. In terms of the number of participants, it will be the best attended Herbalife summit ever. (HZW)
