I have been doing a little further digging into Bioperformance. Here is what I found…
According to this report, Bioperformance contains Naphthalene.
Gov. Toxicity Profiles on Naphthalene:
Acute oral and subchronic inhalation exposure of humans to naphthalene has resulted in neurotoxic effects (confusion, lethargy, listlessness, vertigo), gastrointestinal distress, hepatic effects (jaundice, hepatomegaly, elevated serum enzyme levels), renal effects, and ocular effects (cataracts, optical atrophy). Cataracts have been reported in individuals occupationally exposed to naphthalene (Ghetti and Mariani, 1956) and in rabbits and rats exposed orally to naphthalene (Van Heyningen and Pirie, 1976; Fitzhugh and Buschke, 1949). A number of deaths have been reported following intentional ingestion of naphthalene-containing mothballs (ATSDR, 1990). The estimated lethal dose of naphthalene is 5-15 g for adults and 2-3 g for children. Naphthalene is a primary skin irritant and is acutely irritating to the eyes of humans (Sandmeyer, 1981).
BioPerformance/aka "gas pill" is being shut down. Not only is the product damaging, the company itself is fraudulent. Texas attorney general was the first to take bold action… rest will follow suit. Put a fork in 'em, they're done.
There is a special offer for Bio Performance distributors — the fuel additive / gas pills which have been in the news so much lately. Not only are they highly toxic but apparently the BioPerformance pills did not dissolve and left the gas tank looking like pond scum and this caused all sorts of engine troubles. It did work to increase gas mileage somewhat, so because of a combination of things it seems there has been news going around and perhaps the company is going to be put out of business.
The special offer comes from Team Everest –who carries the gas pills Ferox. The tablets dissolve cleanly within 10 minutes and have been proven to increase gas mileage, reduce emissions and improve car function. This product has been on the market for 15 years and is registered with the EPA.
Anyway, the owners of Team Everest were concerned for all the Bio Performance distributors who have put $500 into their memberships and don't want them to just lose their money — so they are offering to those distributors who want to join Team Everest — a $599 membership for only $100. I think it's a great deal because you get your own discount online store where you can buy wholesale — (with over 1800 products and new products being added daily), AND all the shipping/inventory/merchant fees/customer support is taken care of for you. (Plus, now they are offering the special pricing for anyone who wants to start their own home business, not just Bio Performance distributors.) So, check out their offer at http://www.qigasmileage.com/bioperformance.htm
There is no reason for any MLM or other opportunity to charge for their online stores. These should always be free of charge and included as part of the package. It costs zero dollars for these companies to offer said services. Charging for your website unless you get to pick the dot.com is a scam.
MLM programs work if you are willing to make them work. There is no free ride in this world no matter what business you get involved with. I looked into buying a membership with some other companies but FFI was the one I choose. MY decision was based on their more credible claims, Less enhanced payment program ie they don't pay hundreds of dollars for a sign-up etc. They keep it real imo.
