Meanwhile, Republican gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos has
failed to convince us that he has the answer to
Michigan’s economic problems.

Although he was successful running the Amway organization
founded by his father, we disagree with the notion that
having a background in business translates into knowing how
to run state government.

And we’re perplexed by his pledge to increase
investment in education without increasing taxes or gutting
other state programs that have been trimmed repeatedly
already.

That’s why the Kalamazoo Gazette is recommending voters
return Gov. Granholm to office for a second and final
four-year term.
