Melaleuca breaks ground today on a multi-million dollar manufacturing plant in Bonneville County.

When the facility is complete in 6 months, Melaleuca will hire more workers to operate it.

The new facility will be behind their distribution center at 477 West 65th South, in Idaho Falls.

This plant will make instant powder drinks which will be sold all over the world. They will also be the first facility to manufacture drinks in the state.

Melaleuca's CEO Frank VanderSloot said, "With the lower cost of manufacturing because we're doing this right here in Idaho, we will be able to lower our prices on many of our products and therefore the volumes will be able to expand greatly and we anticipate in the next 5 years probably one hundred or a few more. Hopefully we'll be able to employ 120 people in this plant."
