I noticed a Google Adsense ad on the MLM Blog today touting an MLM called Mandura. I'd never heard of it before. The only Mandura I've ever heard of is a small region of Ethiopia.
According to the Mandura website "Solstice International Partners searched the world to find unique and powerful fruits that combine to provide the perfect nutritional balance. We have formulated Mandura with four of the world's most nutrient-rich fruits from around the globe, capturiing the essence of each…"
The website features Durian and Mangosteen but I can't find any mention of what the other 2 "unique and powerful fruits" are. You'd think after taking the time to search the world you'd take the time to mention the unique ingredients on your website. (Update: I was wrong, the website does list the 4 "unique and powerful fruits". They are Durian, Mangosteen, Acai and Blueberry.)
There is an image on the website that includes what looks like blueberries. Two types of blueberries grow well in Florida where Mandura is based – both the rabbiteye (Vaccinium ashei) and the southern highbush (interspecific hybrids of V. darrowi, V. ashei and V. corymbosum). Hardly a world search.
It also looks like cranberries in the image. Cranberries along with Blueberries and Concord Grapes are all native to America. Not very unique.
Obviously, there's nothing unique about Mangosteen. At last count there were 12,000 other MLMs selling some kind of Mangosteen super juice or supplements.
Durian? Well, Durian just plain stinks…really, it smells like garbage. And it's not that unique either as you can buy it on the side of the road throughout most of South East Asia. And in most Chinatown's across North America.
