Women have not only leveled the playing field in Network Marketing. They dominate it.
Last Saturday I gave a talk in front of a network marketing meeting. This was a group of women who are distributors for a very large and well respected party plan company that sells mostly cosmetics and skin care products.
I love the Internet, emails, message boards and blogging because I love to write. However there’s nothing like speaking in front of a room full of people and getting immediate feedback to what you have to say. It’s so much fun and so gratifying.
The point is that once again I was mobbed with ladies who wanted a copy of my book, "Testosterone-Free Marketing." In fact some women were buying two and three copies for their friends.
There is real truth in the message that women have held back from success in marketing and selling as a result of some of the negative programming we got growing up. We were raised to be wives and mothers – not business owners. But the world has changed so much. We need to make significant incomes so that we can live a nice, comfortable life and live in a nice home and afford to do good things for the people we love.
It’s not about knowing everything in the world about your product. That won’t bring you more customers. It’s not about having a perfectly organized office and inventory space. It’s about feeling confident about asking for the business in a win-win way for everyone involved.
