I’ll bet that you have lots of questions about Trump Network. Don’t worry we’ll get to those in a bit, but first let’s address the two most glaring issues with Trump Network.
1. How involved is Donald Trump and if he really is this big owner of Ideal Health (now Trump Network) why is he still promoting another MLM?
If I was involved with Trump Network, I would have to wonder why the owner of the company (Donald Trump) is promoting another MLM, ACN in Success From Home Magazine and on ACN’s Website, where it states “ACN made network marketing history when they received the personal endorsement of Donald Trump.”
That leads to the question:
Is Donald Trump really a big owner of the Trump Network or did the failing Ideal Health team just give him money and equity to use his name?
Think about it. Do you really think that the owner of Amway, Rich Devos would be caught dead endorsing another MLM like MonaVie or ACN?
Think MonaVie owner Dallen Larsen will be promoting EIRO anytime soon in Success From Home?
It doesn’t add up.
2. Trump Network was previously a company called Ideal Health. Ideal Health was basically failing to break through and gain momentum in the Network Marketing industry for years. So the big question here should be, “what has changed?”
Basically, the products, compensation plan and corporate leadership is the same as the failing Ideal Health. The only real change is the name “Trump”. (We’ll dig in a little deeper there in a second.) I would contend that adding the “Trump” name to a bag of Jelly Beans with an MLM comp plan and you would see growth.
That leads to another question:
“How long will the “Trump” growth last with the same fundamental product, compensation plan and corporate leadership as the failing Ideal Health?”
I took a spot in The Trump Network for the name.I was told he would be promoting and doing ads and staying very involved.I went to the launch in Miami and waited 6 months for all of the hype to turn into results. That never happened. After $1000. in products and a trip it was a big disappointment. lesson learned.
It’s funny you bring this up Ty, as I just flew back from Sydney to Melbourne on Sunday night sitting right next to a guy building ACN. When he spoke about Donald Trump’s endorsement, I asked him about the conflict of interest with the Donald owning another company. His answer: “what other company?”
As far as he was concerned…Donald Trump was simply NOT associated with another company, and I guarantee most other ACN team members believe the same thing. So for anybody who joined Trump Network believing they can ride on Donald Trump’s association…I would say that you’re promoting the company a lot harder than he is!
The only name you should ever put faith into is your own.
Your upline, some cool new tech, maybe a new product launch or company slogan will see some short-term growth.
The only way to really grow though, is to grow yourself into the brand that people want to work with. Rather than pitching that they’d be working with Trump/
Donald Trump was already under an endorsement contract with ACN. That contract will expire in the near future. Once that expires, his contract states that his name can only be used with one Network Marketing company, and that is The Trump Network.
I was at a Trump Tower fly-in where I met Donald Trump, his attorney who put the ‘deal’ together, his executive VP (2nd in command under Trump), along with two of the Ideal Health owners. These folks were candid and impressive. I clearly caught the vision of the future for this company.
Trump is totally on board with The Trump Network and from what I’ve seen, becomes more and more engaged as time goes by. Initially my concern too was that he would lend his name and that would be about it. However, that’s not the case at all. Just a few examples- he has recorded all the ‘sizzle’ calls in the new Wealth Creation System…. hosts Trump Tower fly-ins… Photo shoots with marketers at conventions… and much more…
LIke many launches, there was a lot of hype, mainly by overzealous marketers who came on board thinking the Trump name in itself would propel them to immediate success. Ideal Health has re-made itself as a ‘new’ company and will go through the same phases that all successful companies do- formulation, concentration, and then momentum. And yes, there will be growing pains!
As far as being the “same fundamental product, compensation plan and corporate leadership”, the product line has been expanded with more to come…. the new products enhance an already excellent line… the compensation plan has been dramatically enhanced (I wouldn’t have joined otherwise)… and yes the corporate leadership is the same.
And that is one of the primary reasons Trump selected this company out of many he evaluated- the corporate owners!
Prior Ideal Health attracted primarily medical professionals and people with no networking experience. In my opinion, it didn’t really have any ‘sizzle’ that would attract experienced Networkers.
The 3 original corporate owners/leaders, plus Trump, are smart enough to realize that the Trump name alone would not propel this company to where they want it to go. The name and brand will open the door for conversation with many prospects but it takes more than that to build a huge MLM company.
They are hiring the best and brightest to help move the company to the next level. Just one example- Bill Fields, former CEO of Walmart, is on board as an advisor.
So if the above article is “The Truth About the Trump Network”, perhaps what I’ve just shared will shed a little more light on the subject. You folks have a great day!
It sounds like an average marketing story that 98% of the industry puts together. It’s good enough to get your attention but when you start peeling away layers there are things you end up having to defend instead of promote. “Don’t worry–Trump’s deal with ACN is almost over.” Is it? What if it’s not?
The owners of Ideal Health are doing what good business people will do: try and freshen the story and make some momentum. Unfortunately their momentum is tied up to someone pitching another company.
As for Bill Fields, it’s another example of network of a networking company hoping to impress by name dropping. Frankly, I couldn’t care less if anyone from Wal-Mart is on the board. What does he know about network marketing? He’s made a living driving success through price competition. If you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of premium products in the network space. Some live up to the story, most are quite the opposite. Premium products do not compete on price. It’s fundamentally opposite to what Mr. Fields has done for his entire career.
If you want to impress with advisers, get some from Avon, Mary Kay, Amway, etc. You may not like their companies, but they know the industry way better than the best executive at a big box retail store.
“Honey, I am going to divorce you in a year. IN the meantime, I am going to go out with someone else and raise her children. I do nto think anyone will be confused when they see our family out. Maybe they will never know. I will just act like youboth are great and the kids are mine.” Wake up! You guiys are nuts.
A tuxedo has nothing to do with what is inside it. It’s a window dressing you still need to do sound research on any business opportunity.
The Trump name and affiliation will of course be continuously used to attract more and more people to their network in my opinion. What’s interesting to me is what happens 12 months later?
Say 1000 people join the Trump deal this month – fast forward 12 months, what’s that group look like? Anyone that’s worked and made even $20k/yr in MLM should be aware of the 80/20 rule. Applying that here:
1000 people sign up for ______ (pretty much fill in the blank there…I have yet to see an MLM that doesn’t work like this)
200 of them are the 20%ers…the workers, hitters, etc
800 of them are “average” – cops, teachers, bar tenders, etc
draw a triangle
the tip makes money
the rest don’t
=
70-80% drop out in the first 3-6 months
likely to see nearly 90% gone within 12 months
Where’s the residual if everyone’s leaving?
I think in the Trump case more than most, the fall/failure/quitting will feel worse for the average guy who got sucked in on what has to feel like maybe the most mainstream hype out there.
So follow me on this – fast forward 18-24 months. How many people are LEAVING the Trump deal in droves by that time? How many feel “burned” or stepped on or….?
Bad news travels fast – even if it’s just the perception of bad news (which in these cases it almost always is…..obviously people generally are lazy and after refusing to apply themselves they want to blame their “failure” on someone else)
Hope this helps some steer clear of MLM (assuming you’re joining for the pursuit of an income).
I didn’t mean to imply that the Trump association is bad in my earlier reply. If I were still an MLMer, I’d be psyched about that affiliation, even if there were some unanswered questions about what the real bottom line is or will be down the road.
For what it’s worth, my take is that Trump is awesome, I’m personally a fan and back in the day, I would have really put my shoulder into something like this. It’d be a lot of fun.
Having said all that…I still have issues with the bottom line. After the dust settles (whether that’s 6, 12, 24 months from now)…then what? Where’s the residual income going to come from if the 80%ers by and large are being left in the dust just like every other MLM I’m aware of?
I would not want to be associated with a man of such low moral character.
What’s in a name? Would you really join any opportunity, online or offline, purely on the endorsement of someone well known without doing your own research?
In fact, for me, I feel that if a product has to rely on a big name to get it noticed alarm bells start to ring………… can the product stand up to scrutiny on its own merits?
And he wears a bad wig….something to hide?
Acn is on celebrity apprentice again next year ,
I have a friend of mine, here in Dallas texas area who joined The trump net work, and she wanted me to join the group[ also. i am thankful that i did not. I felt that just because Trump is well known in the real estate and media, doesn’t mean that he will have a successful network marketing operation.
WoW you people have no clue all business is MLM you create a network of customers/workers in any business. You advertise get your company name out there. And it’s the pretty Bow on the front of the package that gets them through the door after that it’s the ambience you create around the product.
After all the ambience-zing / Presentation-zing is done only then does what is inside the box matter.
look at any company this has been the standard for ever
Ooh ya and as for Bill Fields, who worked side by side with Sam Walton in Building the Wal-Mart empire one of the largest MLM company and employer on the face of the earth.
You want to talk about MLM you should first know what you’re talking about. Me and my entire family 14 of us have changed our life’s with This company. You would have to be really lazy to not make money at this the product speak for themselves.
Me and my 2 uncles are proof of this. We all have been on the silhouette program for 5 months and together we have lost over 180 Lb combined.
Our wife’s use the Skin Care Product that came out this year and after about 30 days my wife looks 10 years younger no black rings under her eyes tight looking skin very sexy
this is no BS I am not trying to get anyone to join/buy anything just wanted to put my 2 bits in because this program worked for all of us
Mr. Bill Fields the former CEO of Walmart (Retail store division) has joined the company as a high level advisor. Unknown to most, Mr. Fields is one of the richest people in the world. Per his request, he stays off the list of the wealthiest people in the world. Mr. Fields has been quoted to say he believes the Trump Network will be the Walmart of the MLM industry. Think about this…why would a guy like Bill Fields, who is believed to be one of the top 40 richest individuals in the world, put his name and expertise on Trump Network if he truly didn’t believe it will be the number one company in the MLM world?
I think Trump had bad timing. I think if he started the mlm back in the 80s or 90s he would of had a better chance.Just saying
