I got this news late last night from Ted Nuyten over at businessforhome.org. Tiens North America will be closing it’s operations effective January 31st, 2012. According to Nuyten there are about 11,000 Tiens representatives in the U.S. and Canada.
In Nuyten’s article, he actually goes as far as listing the top 58 leaders in the company in an effort to take advantage of MLM vultures “level the playing field”. But you can only gain access to Nuyten’s list of leaders if you pay the subscription price to his website.
Sad news for the Tiens team in the U.S. and Canada, many in my home state of Washington.
Now it’s time for “I DID NOT KNOW THAT”, a regular (or not) series on MLM Blog that contains useless information that you did not know about…
In addition to bringing us Ted Nuyten, the Netherlands also brought us early 90’s hit machine, ‘2 Unlimited’ which can be heard at nearly every sporting event on the planet. Yes, I’m being serious.
“Greetings from the Netherlands”
interesting news thanks Ty!:)
Interesting article. Very sorry to hear another business closing.
Any thoughts on why they would do this?
It is always sad to see a company go out of business. Especially when you have hard working people that spent a lot of time building a business with that company. What is even more devastating though is that the reps have to read comments from people that jump on these blogs and say "so sorry, but check out my company, it's the best". To all the Tiens reps. there are a lot of good companies to choose from. My advice to you is do your research. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. God bless.
No MLM company with 11,000 distributors just closes. First of all, that’s at least enough reps to generate $1 million a month in revenue, which is more than enough to remain viable. Also, 11,000 reps is an extremely valuable asset worth literally millions. No company would simply close their doors and let them scatter to the wind. They are *always* merged into another company. For this reason I have to believe that Tiens went out of business because their distributor count was actually a small fraction of that amount.
Yep, I didn’t see any mention of “active reps”. Could easily be only 1,000 people on autoship with 11,000 distributor sign ups.
sad news tyeins closing I wander the feelings of heart put in dist wats xt,
love u all guys will pray u hv a opening in a new door soon.
Sorry to hear it but I am not surprised. They were not having a lot of growth in “North America”
What greatly annoys me about this is the comments from some mlmers that come in with… Oh we are SO sorry but hey!, check US out! Our company is breaking industry records, email us! bla bla bla.
When the companies close the vultures come out.
100% self serving, unprofessional spammers.
What a shame, I have been doing Tiens from Malaysia and it is booming and even had customers from Canada. I wish they still operate so that they my customers can buy it from mail order domestically instead of the costly international shipment.
