From USANA Health Sciences:

SALT LAKE CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)–USANA Health Sciences Associate and Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Azzi is one of six women who will be inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday. The induction ceremony will take place in Knoxville, Tenn., at the Bijou Theatre.

Along with Azzi, the Class of 2009 also includes Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, Jennifer Gillom, Sonja Hogg, Ora Washington and Jill Hutchison.

“I am truly honored by this award, but this honor isn’t just about me,” Azzi said. “If the award itself was made of Lego blocks, each person-teammates, coaches, friends and family would make up this award. I am so grateful that a sport can bring so many people together. That's what I love!”

Azzi played for Stanford University's women's basketball team and is regarded by many as one of Stanford's greatest players. While there, she helped lead the team to a 1990 NCAA National Championship, was named NCAA Player of the Year and was selected as MVP for the 1989-90 women's Final Four. Azzi was the youngest person ever inducted into Stanford's Athletic Hall of Fame. She also played professionally as a point guard for the WNBA for five seasons and won a gold medal as part of the 1996 U.S. Olympic women's team.

Outside of her basketball accomplishments, Azzi shares her unique knowledge of health, fitness and leadership as a motivational speaker. She also actively works a successful USANA enterprise with her business partner, Richelle Lund. In addition, she serves as an Athletic Advisory Council member for USANA Health Sciences. USANA's Athletic Advisory Council is dedicated to educating athletes and the public about the health-enhancing properties of nutritional supplements.
