Visalus released news that company sales dropped from $190.4 Million in the 2nd Quarter of 2012 to $101.5 Million in the sale time period for 2013, a loss of close to $90 Million in revenue. The company also reported that it had 57,000 promoters for the quarter compared to over 114,000 promoters for 2nd quarter 2012.
That’s basically a loss of 50% of the company’s reps and revenue in one year.
Granted, most companies in the industry would love to have $101.5 million in sales each quarter.
But that big of a drop leads one to believe that something drastic happened.
Yet, I have spoken with a couple of (very) high level leaders who seem to be more excited than ever about the future of the company. The leaders I spoke with have recommitted to building their Visalus business faster than before by focusing on new recruiting and 60-90 “runs”.
Visalus is launching a breakfast cereal product that they believe will make an impact on the marketplace.
CEO Ryan Blair had this to say:
“We are focused on rebuilding the N.A. Promoter base through new products and incentives. At our national Vitality convention in July, we announced that ViSalus is innovating breakfast with a new patent pending, high protein, high fiber cereal – Vi Crunch TM Protein Super Cereal. Vi Crunch delivers maximum nutrition without excess sugar, salt or fat. To create breakfast variety, we will also release Vi Crunch Fusions, two nutritious toppings to add to Vi Crunch cereal or to eat as a standalone snack. We are bringing our innovation in flavor and nutrition to the $12 billion U.S. and Canadian cereal market.”
Hmmmm, did someone say ICEBERG ahead!!!!!
Told you so! I guess $49 for a 2-week supply of cereal will turn the ship around next quarter. LOL!
So has every other company in the last 20 years. There has not been a billion dollar company since NUSkin. Because the all do the same thing. They don’t have internal company training that’s any good if at all and they leave their reps hanging out there to look for they skills they need and they are just fodder for the bottom feeders that sell leads and junk systems that don’t work.
That’s a total crock, Visalus never list money and are currently leading the nutrition industry. Yeah like any other company some people decide to quit but that’s definitely not a loss. While 100 quit 200 start up. Visalus is the company that sets the pace and we watch the others try to mock us!!
ViSalus had an unheard of 41 straight months of double-digit growth. Anyone with any business sense understands this type of growth is impossible to maintain. It’s called a business cycle. Down 2% and leveled off hardly seems like a doomsday scenario to me.
If I were a Visalus rep I would be shaking in my boots. A loss like that is pretty horrific and must be creating a lot of unease within the company. Will be interesting to see if they can come back from that strongly. I somehow think it’s going to take more than cereal though.
Great, I'm sure a $20 a box breakfast cereal will turn that sinking ship right around!
Hey hey.. Great blog post however on the other hand it's a shame that the companies sales are down… If a companies sales are down it only means one thing… People / distributors aren't selling the products and not earning the money they joined for 🙁
Did you know that there has NEVER been an MLM company that started in the USA in the past 30 years, which grew to $300 million in annual sales and then continued to grow in the USA for each of the following 3 years? More proof that MLM is an aging model on its way to becoming extinct.
No way you're going to replace that revenue on one product Tim, you're correct.
The problem is that these people are selling stuff at insane prices. Sure, some people still buy into the hype. But wouldn’t it be better to just buy from people who have the same stuff but at lower prices? Just my 2 cents.
interesting… 1/2 huh…. that's a lot of ambassador's checks…
no they are not….
We continue to do quite well at Herbalife even with people aimimg to dishonestly profit from trying to drive our stock price down. In my book that is purposely trying to manipulate the market for gain, which is against the law, just like insider trading. No one can argue against the physical results people get using our nutrition.
Visalus decided to change the comp plan and take hard earned money from it's promoters, when your promoters start losing money, they start lookinig for a new company to work for.
I predicted this 2 years ago – you can't terminate your top leaders and thrive:
