I’m reading a lot on the internet about how Wal-Mart has backed out of the Blastoff Network. Here’s a message from the Blastoff Network’s CEO which confirms this:
Hello,
During the PPL Pre-Launch we had a PPL member who had replicated our corporate marketing site as their own and made some very outlandish claims including Wal-Mart. This caused Wal-Mart to pull out. The PPL Corporate Office was made aware of this situation and helped us shut down this and other similar sites. We have been working on re-establishing this relationship and are making headway.
Thanks,
Bill Rodgers
CEO
Seems like some bad apples messed up the Wal-Mart relationship with hype and lies.
Yep, and another fool has messed it up for Blastoff now with a different merchant called “The Container Store.” (A tupperware wannabe, perhaps?)
Mr. Rodgers put out another video message today to all PPL members saying that some gung-ho blastoff member actually jumped on the container store’s merchant site and basically said; “Don’t buy here, buy thru my blastoff store!”
Wow, the nerve.
There will always be a few bad apples that spoil it for everyone else. Now Rodgers has said that they will delete member accounts for anyone doing this in the future. I think I’d go further and send over Vinny & Bruno if I were him.
Cool blog, by the way.
Isn’t that interesting how a few people could cause two major campains to pull advertisment like that.
I am thinking even though it is the wrong way and should be stoped, pulling the plug would cost way more than the small % it cost them. At least they did not send them to a competitor store.
I am not condoning what they did and that needs to be stopped. It just seems a bit overkill to pull entire campaine over a few bad apples. I am no expert and this is just my opinion.
Sincerely,
Victor Ott

It is a shame this happened. iTunes is off now, as well. By the way, these were not advertisers. The companies do not pay to be on the MALL.
There are far more fraud related postsand sites regarding BLASTOFF and MALL merchants.
This must stop…or more stores will pull out of the mall.
