Here's a letter from YTB Travel CEO Scott Tomer. It is available at The Facts About YTB.
Here's an excerpt:
The flurry of negative articles surrounding YTB’s settlement with
the California Attorney General is not a surprise to me. I have
accepted the fact that our critics take great pride in authoring
fictional articles designed to harm our company. The only way anyone
could claim “YTB barred from California,” as one headline read, is to
completely ignore the facts.
Small-minded people with hidden agendas designed to support their
position or promote a competing business must think they better
themselves by trying to tear down our company. Andy Cauthen, our
President and COO, recently sent a letter to our home office staff and
leaders of our sales force addressing these less than honorable
competitors.
He said, “Critics have a motive; no one criticizes just to
criticize. They are paid something. It’s a self-indulgent motive. They
are looking to build their own business while primarily calling
attention to their self importance.
“Their methods and strategies are hateful; they take the lowest
shots and gleefully hit below the belt. They actually enjoy it because
they are calloused and insensitive.”
So why don’t we respond directly to our critics? Andy answered, “Not
only does it accomplish nothing; they will actually distort your
response and render your intentions worthless.”
He summed it up perfectly by quoting the old farmer’s saying, “When
you wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty. But the pig loves it.”

Love them or Hate them… this is a sign of the times for Travel based MLM companies… No longer can they stand with Travel alone… products are now begin added to the business model… just look at WorldVentures and Traverus Travel. Both have added consumables or merged with companies that offer other products to over come regional or state regulations.
Whether you love or hate YTB this kind of action/accusations etc… are good for NOBODY. I would like to see YTB get passed the hard times they are facing. Network Marketing is a great Industry and the Industry as a whole suffers wioth this type of Legal Squabble.
i previously had been with ytb. I am no longer. i have consistently asked to be taken off your email list. i have not, as a matter of fact it has gotten worse. from this moment on i am going to do everything i can to hurt this company. i am going to every legal avenue, blogging, twittering, network marketing against this company!!!!
Wow Sheila,
I suspect it is safe to assume you were not successful. Based on the success you are seeing happen for so many within YTB, I might suggest that your results would be much different if you put as much effort into accomplishing something productive as you do trying to avoid the mirror. Amazed.
