Amway (Thailand) Co is planning to build a new 1.1-billion-baht headquarters to support future growth of its direct-sales business and its goal to reach 20 billion baht in revenue in 2012.
The new headquarters will be located on a 10-rai plot on Ramkhamhaeng Road. Construction will start in the fourth quarter of this year and be completed in August 2012.
"The move is to show our commitment to Thailand and we will stay in the Thai direct selling market forever," said managing director Preecha Prakobkit.
The five-storey building will have total space of 35,405 square metres and will accommodate business activities and shops for 1 million Amway business owners and members. The building will also embrace a green design concept.
The new headquarters will be one of the largest for Amway in the world. The decision reflects the US parent’s belief in the potential of Thailand where Amway has had a presence for more than two decades.
Thailand is the largest market for Amway in Southeast Asia and ranks sixth in the world.
