Until last Wednesday, Shawn Larsen (brother to Dallin Larsen – Founder and CEO of MonAvie) served as Mayor of Rexburg, Idaho. Now he works for MonAvie.
According to reports in The Rexburg Standard Journal Larsen read his resignation aloud at the beginning of last Wednesday’s City Council meeting.
"Some of you are aware that I have been presented with an opportunity to make a career change. I have decided to seize that opportunity and will be stepping down as mayor in early October to take a position at MonaVie, a Utah-based company.
"I love serving as mayor of Rexburg and my association with all of the city employees and all of you on the council and past councils. I am proud of the many projects that we have been able to accomplish over the last six years. Rexburg will always be my hometown, and I will always have an interest in how it continues to progress and grow, which I think it will."
